shift*eight Software
Asterisk is a powerful and flexible open source software toolkit for constructing PBX and call centre solutions. It can be used to implement PBX systems requiring VoIP as well as conventional telephony environments. The power of Asterisk is its flexibility and ability to be tailored to any scenario.
Asterisk transforms standard PC hardware running Linux into a ‘softPBX’ equipped with hard or soft phones. All shift*eight solutions run on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (‘SLES’), the operating system of choice for maximum stability and efficiency and backed by support from Novell. Unlike traditional PBX systems that typically require costly add-in modules to gain increased functionality, Asterisk provides its full complement of feature-rich modules for free. With Asterisk, customers have the flexibility to incorporate dozens of features into their PBX, including:
• Integration with Customer Relationship Management software • Voicemail • Interactive Voice Response • VoIP links over WANs using Leased Cost Routing • ‘Follow Me’ functionality • Ring Groups • Conference calls • Paging and intercom functionality • Music on Hold • Call queues • Faxing • SMS facility • Custom and dynamic dial plans • Call recording
Asterisk management interface
FreePBX has become the de facto standard for managing a PBX powered by Asterisk. The web- based interface allows you, the customer, to make day-to-day changes on the PBX without having to call in outside assistance from the vendor or other third parties.
FreePBX is an integral part of shift*eight, putting the power of the PBX in the hands of the customer.
Call Reporting
QueueMetrics is incorporated into shift*eight solutions for delivering real-time call centre information. It also ensures that both agents and supervisors have all the tools needed to effectively operate and manage call centres.
Telephone Management Solution (TMS)
Aspivia is the recommended product for use with shift*eight to provide information and reporting on telephony call costs. shift*eight includes an interface between Asterisk and Aspivia that allows for continuous, secure and reliable upload of call data records into the TMS. |
